Isabel Edvardsson - Part III

Can you remember your very first tailor-made dress?
Oh sure! I was 13 years old at that time and got a tailor-made dress – it was a dream, of course. It has been made by a tailor who specialized in dancer’s dresses. A dress for Latin-American dances. It was made from mesh, very thin fabric but still covering, it had black fringes on the skirt and lace covered in STRASS stones.

Do you still have it in your wardrobe?
No, unfortunately not. I have sold it. But I would love to know who owns it right now.

How many dance dresses do you own?
At the moment I am having three, no, sorry, four dresses. Whenever I need a new dress, I would sell one of them.

Are you more of a glamourous or casual type in private life?
If casual means sneakers and baggy jeans, no. I am more of a classic type of person. Jeans or a pair of black pants – and a black turtle neck, that’s what I love. I don’t wear costumes in my private life, I have lots of them when I dance. Particularly with Let’s Dance I get to wear magnificent costumes in striking colors and STRASS on them every week. Likewise with make-up and styling. That is why in my private life I am more of a classic type.

What are you plans for after this Let’s Dance Season?
At the moment I am focusing on the show only, but when Let’s Dance is finished I am looking forward to being at my dance school in Hamburg. Although my dancing students are very happy for her teacher to appear on Let’s Dance, I still want to make sure that I am back with them as soon as possible after this season. Just to make them say: Hey, we’ve got our Isabel back again.

Are you at your dance school regularly?
I try. That’s why I opened the dance school only now and not already a couple of years ago. When your dance school is carrying your name, you should be there and teach your own courses. That’s what I am doing. Except for the present moment, when Let’s Dance is on air. Of course one never knows for how long one might be gone. This depends on the TV audience and the jury. But after the show I will be giving my own courses and take care of my students again.
